Floyd C. Cunningham died at his home in Calloway County near Pine
Bluff. He was taken ill on Thursday, June 1st at 12 oclock, of
inflammation of the bowels and lived till Sunday night at 12 oclock.
In April he had the measles and then appendicitis. He was operated
on in May and has suffered death a thousand times over, but bore his
suffering so bravely. He was 17 years and 5 months old and was
beloved by all who knew him. He leaves father, mother, and 5 brothers
to mourn his untimely death. His grandfathers, N.C. Cooper and
S.W. Cunningham, both live in Trigg county near old Trigg Furnace.
He was a son of C.O. and Fannie Cunningham. Oh, it was so hard to
give him up, but we try to say Gods will be done, and may our
summons come soon to join Floyd on the other side of the river of
His broken-hearted mother.
