Everett D. Thurman
Bro. Everett D. Thurman, who died March 23, 1936, after a lingering illness of several years, was born January 28, 1863. He had been a member of this church more than a quarter of a century and was one of our outstanding members. Bro. Thurman was a man of fine business judgement and for this reason the church on February 5, 1930, elected him as one of the trustees, which office he held until his death. He was a member of the building committee that erected our present church building. His wise council had much to do with the successful handling of that undertaking without leaving a burdensome debt on the congregation.

The citizens of his city and county recognized his conservative business ability and elected him to positions of honor and trust in various capacities, in all of which he served with honor and distinction to himself and with profit to the public in general. Bro. Thurman and his fine family have meant much to our church.
